Staying at Glenegedale was unforgettable, with Emma's warm welcome and delicious slow-cooked porridge featuring Laphroaig whisky that truly elevated each morning.

Spent here 4 beautiful days and would like to stay longer. We truly enjoyed this lovely family run hotel, no complains at all. The location was magnificent and lovely for exploring this lovely area, next to Islay, of Port Ellen or Bowmore, the many restaurants, and taxis. It was a joy spending time in the perfectly clean and luxurious room with great views and maps, as for instance. The food was excellent and the staff were affable.

The staff are helpful as well as the host. The ambiance is quiet! The location of the hotel is unbeatable, very close to ferry as well as an impossibly beautiful open bay into the ocean.

super clean cleanliness, exquisite decor, thoughtful layout

Common area wifi only worked well in select spots!!! A mesh router might work wonders for coverage throughout!!! Dinner arrangement issues should be improved to prevent inconvenience!!!

    fresh fruits
    islay whisky

    Perfect for a family retreat

The breakfast was really a standout! Fresh fruits and that porridge with a splash of Islay whisky, I mean, it's next level stuff. Plus, they really go out of their way to give tips and book tours. I was like I got the inside scoop on everything.

Yeah, it wasn't the most affordable place but still decent for what you get, ya know?

    luxurious decor
    really good hospitality
    weak wi-fi

Glenegedale House impressed me right from the start. The décor throughout the hotel felt luxurious yet cozy was good. Emma and Graeme's hospitality was really good. They were genuinely attentive and made an effort to know their guests. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the whisky porridge- delicious and a unique touch. The evening meals were on par with fine dining, with locally sourced ingredients that showcased Islay's flavors. I loved the baked muffins for breakfast, but they definitely left me wanting to join a gym after indulging! The location is fantastic for exploring the island, close to distilleries and beautiful landscapes. On a less positive note, there was a slight issue with my evening meal reservation, which led to an unexpected visit to a neighboring village, but the hosts quickly sorted it out, so it was not a major inconvenience. The Wi-Fi signal was stronger in the common areas, a minor hiccup, but overall, it did not detract from my stay. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to explore Islay and enjoy some fantastic food.

    amazing food
    friendly hosts
    spotty wifi
    lack of complaints

Oh mate, the food at Glenegedale House is something else! Breakfast was a glorious feast with Emma's legendary porridge with a cheeky splash of whisky. Graeme's dinners were epic, reminding me of something straight outta a Michelin-star restaurant. Their hospitality? Great! Warm and inviting, like a cozy Scottish hug.

Now, I'm being picky here, but can't say I found anything to moan about-maybe just a spotty WiFi signal? But honestly, that didn't take away from the charm and beauty of the place.

WiFi signal weakens significantly in the rooms, favoring common areas-a mesh router might help future guests stay connected throughout. The midges in peak season are certainly a nuisance, but they didn't completely spoil outdoor experiences like sunset views over the beach. A minor hiccup occurred with dinner reservations, leading to an unexpected jaunt to a neighboring village. Even then, flexibility is key.
